Looney toons list
No collection includes minor (cameo) appearances of the character.

I had to adopt some sort of hierarchy, as if some character's series contained each other: There is a lot of crossover in Looney Tunes films. The only collections that include bonus shorts are Bugs and Daffy, comprising all appearances of their prototype versions. The duplicates have been reduced to: 20 shorts appearing twice and 1 appearing 3 times - totalling 22 repetitions for 21 shorts. The old listings with bonus shorts are available via the page histories. So, I've decided to abandon the "Bonus Shorts" approach and eliminate duplications in regular (non-bonus) shorts except for a few cases. It was too much! I wanted to follow Walt Disney Treasures approach, however in that collection there are only 5 duplicated shorts between regular character volumes, not counting 13 duplicates in the WWII volume (that consists of mostly duplicates). There were 64 cartoons appearing twice and 4 appearing 3 times - totalling 72 repetitions for 68 shorts. However, considering the whole collection, this approach led to the repetition of too many films. This approach is great if we think about standalone collections: if someone is only interested in Tweety and Sylvester, for example, the Tweety collection would include all of Tweety & Sylvester, all of Tweety, all of Granny, and all Tweety cameo appearances!

My original idea was that the bonus shorts should work like bonus tracks of music albums: a character's collection should comprise all of his appearances, plus cameo appearances and prototypes related to the character. So if you're a fan like me I'd encourage you to design your own collection, because it's very subjective. Many other animation fans also have done a similar thing - i.e., designing Looney Tunes collections. If someone edits these pages, I'm gonna see only a couple of weeks later, and then undo the edits. Not because I don't like suggestions, but because the possibilities are simply endless and I don't feel like considering them, it's pretty impossible. I don't mean to be harsh, but I'm not accepting suggestions. Nonetheless, the release order is correct! The exact release dates in these lists may be wrong, because they've been taken from Wikipedia. Only the list of shorts.ĭiscs would have around 13-24 shorts each. I haven't done a list of possible extra material of this hypothetical project. This is an individual hobby made for fun. The collection's approach is similar to Walt Disney Treasures, completely character-centered. This is a proposed project of a full, comprehensive Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies home video collection on blu ray disc.
